It's a well known fact that the A320 series does not like rough weather, I have had my worst turbulence experience on board an A320. As the flight passed through FL300, the turbulence became severe and the flight crew observed the vertical speed in excess of 2500 feet per minute. That being said, I have been in 190's and 175's quite a bit and have only once had a bumpy ride. I have heard the Embraer is really quiet and a nice plane though...I don't know how each plane compares in turbulence, but I do know, as someone afraid of takeoff and turbulence, that I feel much better in the Airbus because it has the 3/3 seating as opposed to the 2/2 of the 190. As cabin crew on the E-190: I like it. What's your opinion on an Embraer 190 vs an Airbus 319 from CLT to MSY?

December 22, 2018 Editor TSB Incidents 0. I have not heard anyone saying the E170-E190 series being as bad as the A320s in severe turbulence. The flight was turbulent due to weather and I suspect wasn't any worse than it would have been in either the A319 or 737. The further back you get in an airplane, the more noticeable the turbulence is. It is very difficult to get a comfortable temperature on certain days. A higher level was requested, however it was denied by ATC due to heavy traffic at FL320. The 190 is a very long aircraft, and the rides are very different the further back you go.

The only thing that is not so good is the temperature control for the cabin. Try to sit over the wing, or forward of the wing. I just always feel more comfortable in the bigger/wider plane.
