There are coastal walks, woodland walks, walks by rivers and routes where you will experience the huge open horizons for which our county is famed. Here are a few of our favourite walks within easy reach of Manchester, from easy park strolls to slightly more challenging routes - all with a pub or two nearby. Always a nice end to a good walk! The couple enjoys walking so much they decided to compile an online library of walks from around the UK, so that anyone and everyone can enjoy a great walk, when close to home or visiting a somewhere new. From the town centre the path soon takes on a rural nature.Near Shalford the path comes to the junction of the Wey and Arun Canal where you can take the Wey South Path or climb Chinthurst Hill where there is a tower.Dogs are more than welcome and there is a dog station dedicated to them.About the walk: A three-mile circular walk passing through Shackleford, Norney and Peper Harow.
