James was the owner of Covert’s Potpourri in Zanesville and retired from Owens-Illinois after 42 years of service. Mr. Covert was my Superintendent when I attended elementary school. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church and sang in the choir.In addition to his parents James was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mary Kathryn (Campbell)He is survived by his daughter Melinda (Patrick) Snyder of Zanesville; brother Harold “Gene” (Juanita) Covert of Zanesville; grandchildren, Ben (Julie) Snyder of New Concord, Jennifer (Michael) Williams of KY, Caitlin (Jonathan) Hoffer of Cincinnati; great-grandchildren, Austin, Nick, Isabel, Cassie, Skylar, Sydney.Calling hours will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, December 27, 2018 at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will take place at 10:00 AM Friday, December 28, 2018 with Rev.
